I am proud to announce that I am running the Office of Hays County Treasurer. It’s time for a leader!
My public track record speaks for itself. As a Kyle City Council person, I made tough decisions on the budget. I consistently voted for lower budgets – sometimes I was the only one. You were hard for your money, and you deserve to have someone on your side.
During my term on Council, I was elected the first female President of the Association of Municipal Hispanic Officials. I also served on the Texas Municipal Board, an organization that represents the interests of Texas Cities before the legislature and provides training to officeholders.
And thanks to my experience as an accountant and small business owner, I have experience understanding budgeting and fiscal soundness processes. All key ingredients for the office of Hays County Treasurer.
When my community needs me, I have always been there. Recently during the pandemic, I worked to ensure my neighbors had access to covid testing. During my time on the city council, I started the City of Kyle’s partnership with the Central Texas Food Bank to provide food to anyone in Hays County that needs it.
As a leader in our schools, I have been President of several PTA’s. When our Hays CISD Mariachi programs had unmet needs, I started the Mariachi Booster club and created a musical festival to showcase their talents. The festival still runs to this day. I didn’t wait for permission to start. I said let’s do this and found other like-minded people in the community and we did it!
